These two machines share a platform, a threading path, a drop-in bobbin and a wide table. If you put them side by side under a cover you would struggle to tell them apart from how they sew.
What differs: the XR9550 has 110 built-in stitches and a larger LCD; the CS7000X has 70 stitches and a speed-limiting slider. That is genuinely the whole comparison.
Stitch count is the wrong spec
Almost every beginner settles on the same five or six stitches within a month: straight, zigzag, a stretch stitch, a blind hem, a buttonhole and an overcast. Everything past that is decorative, and the difference between 70 decorative options and 110 is the difference between two libraries you will not read.

Only on paper. The XR9550 has more decorative stitches and a larger display; the CS7000X has a speed-limiting slider, which matters far more to a beginner. They share the same platform, bobbin, wide table and threading path.
Does the Brother XR9550 have speed control?
