Brother refreshes its combination sewing-and-embroidery machines regularly, and the SE725 is the SE700's successor. Both offer 103 sewing stitches, 135 built-in embroidery designs, a color touchscreen, an automatic needle threader and a drop-in bobbin.
Critically, both have the same 4 x 4 inch embroidery field, which is the limit every owner meets first.
What is different
The wireless and app workflow. The SE725 is the newer implementation of sending designs to the machine over your home network rather than by USB stick. In practice both work; the newer one is a little smoother and, being current, will have support and firmware attention for longer.
The question neither model answers
Four inches by four inches. That is the size of everything you can embroider in a single hooping on either machine, and it is the constraint that eventually sends people shopping again. Monograms, names, patches and small motifs are fine. A design across the back of a jacket is not.
